Why I Blog #5

The boys had some afternoon fun with this box though it was also a source of contention
Joseph: 'It's a boat'
Ben: 'No, car'
Joseph: 'No, it's a boat'
Ben: 'No, CAR!!!'
Joseph: 'BOAT'
Ben:' CAR'
etc..

Ben sorts out Breakfast - Crunchy Nut Cornflakes with extra sugar :)

We had the missionaries Elder Balls and Elder Pezensky for tea and Family Home Evening, along with Denise our amazing new member. I had such a lovely chat with her on the way home, she's so enthused by the gospel and had some really special things happened to her as she made the decision to be baptised, I felt the spirit of it this evening.

The Elders came with a visual spiritual thought, they attempted to create a temple made of cups with the twelve apostles as the base, the four principles of the gospel as the next tier with the offices of the Aaronic priesthood and we didn't quite get onto the next tier as Joseph prematurely destroyed it (cups made into a tower are kind of asking to be knocked down in the mind of a 4 year old.) Nathan then offered the version he used on his mission using the cups to demonstrate the different elements which create the fulness of the gospel making a pyramid and when any of those elements are taken away the pyramid collapses. Any way quote of the evening was when Elder Balls was asking for names of the apostles in Jesus' day, as we said a name he pointed to one of the 12 cups so began listing them off:

'Matthew, Peter, James, John, Bartholomew, Judas...another Judas, Philip, Thomas...Luke'

When Joseph heard the name Luke he then pointed to the next cup and said ..'is this one Darth Vadar then...that one is Luke and this is Darth Vadar??'

Love it :)

Also love that Nathan is washing up and listening to Kelly Clarkson 'Mr Know it all' really loud - love that song and my man loves a Kelly Clarkson sing a long too :)

Care programme

Today I've been ill :( I woke up with an enhanced version of the headache I went to bed with and so pretty much stayed in bed all day. My needs have been tended to by; Nurse Ben who took on the role of lap dog and snuggled up for a three hour nap - though his body was warm his toes were ice cold and quite soothing when placed on my head - though not for long. He also provided some of that great medicine, laughter, when he picked up my boot and scrunching his nose up said ' eww smells yucky' Nurse Joseph has said prayers for me, it really is so nice to hear him pray from his heart the things on his mind. 'Please bless Mummy she is poorly.' Before bed he came and sang me songs - renditions of baa baa, twinkle twinkle (which Ben joined in with as well as Snowman) I am a Child of God, popcorn, 12345, incy wincy, 5 fat sausages and Old macdonald who had a giraffe - I love his voice he carries a tune well and sings high and clear. I love the fact that he gets the words muddled up and adds his own bits in - how I'll miss that when he grows up a bit more and can sing them word perfect. At the end he started singing total gobbledegoop to a mish mash of tunes and lyrics such as silly punk??? It made me laugh. Nurse Nathan came home from  church at an early 1:40pm gave a me a needed blessing, I loved how faithful Joseph was straight after 'Are you better now Mummy?' we explained that we have to wait a little while and Heavenly Father will help me get better. Nurse Nathan then set to task and tended to the boys and their needs for the rest of the day, read them a long story and put them to bed. Tea however was provided by Nurse Diane, who via the Stilgoe nurses sent us a pork dinner and chocolate pudding and custard. I feel grateful to be so cared for.

Caroline and Stuart's Wedding

Caroline back from the hairdressers ready for her dress and to get wed :)

Chief page boy looking fab in his bow tie and cummerbund
just chilling with a custard cream and 'those naughty birds on Mummy's phone'

Trying to get a sneaky look at Aunty Caroline in her dress

Granne making the last finishing touches

In the car wearing Chauffer Ben's hat

Excited nieces, nephews, sister in laws and Jamie, waiting for Aunty Caroline to get out of the car

The service was lovely, lots of smiles on faces and also tears. Andrew cried from the pulpit as Caroline walked down the aisle which set her off even more! Bishop Hooson gave a beautiful talk as did Andrew. I think I managed to play 'Dawn' with only a few minor omissions which hopefully didn't detract. Joseph sat really well with his sticker book dressing up superheros and princesses. Ben ended up asleep on Nathan's shoulder at the back :)

Charlie having cuddles with Rebecca

Amazing cake by Val

The proud 'Greats' who had a lovely time chatting with Stuarts grandparents across the table. At one point when the amazing desserts were being handed out. Grandad asked Grandad Wilson (who had something different to everyone else) 'So what have you got that we haven't?' The reply was 'diabetes!'

Daddy was on boy duty as I was sitting at the top table

The Best man's speech (Graeme) (stories about surfing down the stairs on a bed and microwave experiments including CDs, drinks cans, soap and an egg - sounds like something I'd do lol!)

Caroline looked beautiful in the stunning dress Mum had made

Anyone for cake?

Dream team - Val and Dale :)

Nathan did a fab job of running'Daddy day care'

Mum had done an amazing job on the dresses

There were three entrants into the 'Muckiest White Shirt Contest'

Though I'm quite reluctant to admit defeat for my own boys I do think on this occasion Jack won it with Ben in a close second and Joseph really lagging behind quite considerably!

Actually looking at this  photographic evidence I'm not sure if Ben actually clinched it?

Isabelle taking note of the result :)
